Deepak Completed his Diploma in Journalism and after finishing his education, Deepak helped co-found Aaj Tak. In 2003, he took on the role of consulting editor at DD News.
He was in DD news for like a year and then he returned to Aaj Tak in July 2004. He worked at Aaj Tak for a while before moving on to STAR News, which later became ABP News. In January 2013, Deepak took on the position of editor-in-chief at India News. In the controversial video, Chaurasia’s speech and mannerisms sparked speculation among Twitter users that he may have been under the influence of alcohol while presenting the show. Additionally, a slip of the tongue led him to mistakenly refer to General Bipin Rawat as VP Singh and mention “we lost a journalist” instead of “General”. A warrant for the arrest of journalist and news anchor Deepak Chaurasia was issued by a special court in Gurugram, due to allegations that he broadcasted altered and offensive videos of a 10-year-old girl and her family, and linked them to the sexual assault case against the godman Asaram Bapu.
This was not the first time a warrant was issued for Chaurasia’s arrest. In fact, this was the second warrant of arrest that had been issued by the court in Gurugram within a span of three months. The first warrant was issued on October 28th, 2022, after Chaurasia failed to attend a hearing due to health reasons. Despite the warrant, Chaurasia was eventually granted bail after appealing to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
