In 2018, Aditi Avasthi accomplished a thriving corporate funding round with Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, wherein the company agreed to invest $180 million in Embibe.

Aditi Avasthi, the founder and CEO of Embibe, a Bangalore-based artificial intelligence educational technology platform, has positioned Embibe as a formidable competitor to major edtech platforms such as Byju’s, PhysicsWallah, Unacademy, and others.

Aditi Avasthi was born in Ludhiana, Punjab. She completed her B Tech degree from Thapar University in 2003. Aditi Avasthi further pursued an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

After completing her B Tech, Aditi Avasthi worked at Tata Consultancy Services. She subsequently joined Barclays, where she served as the Deputy Chief of Product and Strategy Head for their mobile banking division in Africa.

Aditi Avasthi founded Embibe with a funding of USD 700,000, which she successfully raised from angel investors. Additionally, after a few months, Aditi secured investments from Kalaari Capital and Lightbox Ventures for Embibe.

In 2018, Aditi Avasthi orchestrated a prosperous corporate funding round with Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani. During this round, the company agreed to invest USD 180 million in Embibe.

In 2020, Reliance Industries made an additional investment of Rs 500 crore in Embibe. It is worth mentioning that Reliance Industries acquired a 73% stake in Embibe in April 2018.

In 2021, Aditi Avasthi was honoured as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She was recognized among BBC’s top 100 Women in 2017 and was also bestowed the title of ‘Woman of the Year’ by Vogue in 2018.

According to reports, Embibe has secured a total of USD 196.7 million in funding across four funding rounds. The most recent funding round took place on February 4, 2020.

Embibe has received funding from four investors, including Reliance Industries and InnoVen Capital.
