Who is Akhila BS?
On September 11, 2000, Akhila, the daughter of a former headmaster at a government high school, experienced a devastating accident that resulted in the loss of her right arm from the shoulder. In the aftermath, she sought consultation from German medical professionals, but unfortunately, her arms did not fully heal. Despite this setback, Akhila showed remarkable resilience and adapted to her new circumstances, learning to carry out her daily tasks using her left arm. Her determination and ability to overcome adversity serve as a testament to her strength and tenacity.
Achieving the highest possible score, Akhila successfully passed her board exams. Following her accomplishment, she embarked on her journey to prepare for the civil services, undertaking an Integrated MA program at IIT Madras. Inspiration behind Akhila BS’s success
Akhila attributes her aspiration to become an IAS officer to her teacher, who introduced her to the role of a collector, igniting her dream. However, she faced a significant hurdle during the exams, as sitting still for three to four hours continuously proved to be an impossible task due to her circumstances. “I had a strong desire to become an IAS officer. I made a firm decision to dedicate myself to studying for the upcoming exam and was determined to keep trying until I secured a position in the service of my choice,” she expressed. “I enrolled in a coaching program at an institution in Bangalore, where I received guidance and support for a year. Later, I returned to Kerala and sought assistance from an organization based in Thiruvananthapuram,” she elaborated on her journey. Akhila’s proactive approach and her utilization of various resources demonstrate her unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of her dream.
