Akshata Murty earned Rs 120.76 crore from Infosys dividends by receiving a Rs 31 per share dividend last year.

Akshata Murty, daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and wife of UK PM Rishi Sunak, is set to earn Rs 68.17 crore as Infosys announced dividends. To earn the amount, she must retain her 3.89 crore company shares at Rs 17.50 per share until June 2. Her total income will be Rs 132.4 crore, including last year’s dividend of Rs 31 per share. In October, Infosys announced an interim dividend of Rs 16.50 per share.

Murty received a dividend of Rs 31 per share last year, earning her Rs 120.76 crore. She owns shares in Infosys worth Rs 5400 crore. Her husband, India-origin Rishi Sunak, became Britain’s Prime Minister in October.

Akshata has retained her Indian citizenship while her husband Sunak is a British citizen. India does not allow dual citizenship, unlike many European countries.

Akshata Murty, born in Hubballi, Karnataka, studied in Bengaluru. She holds non-domiciled status in the UK, allowing her to live there tax-free for 15 years. Despite this, she has stated that she pays taxes on all her income.

She completed a dual major in economics and French at Claremont McKenna College in California. She later earned a fashion design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Akshata met her future husband, Rishi Sunak while studying business management at Stanford University. They tied the knot in 2009 and have two children named Krishna and Anoushka.

The couple has made significant investments in real estate, owning a Rs 71 crore house and a flat in Kensington, a penthouse in California, and a mansion in Yorkshire. Sunak’s father is a doctor, while his mother is a pharmacist.

The Murthy family collectively owns a 3.6% stake in Infosys, with Narayana Murthy holding 0.40%, Sudha holding 0.82%, son Rohan holding 1.45%, and daughter Akshata holding 0.93%.
