However, Bisakh Mondal, who did not attend IIT or IIM, defied the odds and excelled in interviews with major companies like Google, Amazon, and Meta. As a result, he secured a position in London with an impressive annual salary of Rs 1.8 crore.
Who is Bisakh Mondal?
Bisakh Mondal, originally from Kolkata, has consistently demonstrated excellent academic performance. Hailing from a modest family in Rampurhat, Birbhum, Bisakh’s father works as a farmer, while his mother serves as an Anganwadi worker.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Bisakh Mondal achieved remarkable results in his academic journey. In 2018, he successfully cleared the class 12 board examination with an impressive rank of 12 and a passing percentage of 95.8%. Subsequently, he enrolled at Jadavpur University in West Bengal, where he pursued a B.Tech degree in computer science. Notably, in his fourth year as a computer science student, Bisakh secured a prestigious position with the highest salary among his peers.

Multiple media outlets have reported that Bisakh Mondal joined Facebook in September. Prior to joining Facebook, he received job offers as a software developer from both Google and Amazon. However, after careful consideration, Bisakh decided to accept the position offered by Facebook. It was the attractive salary package provided by Facebook that ultimately led Bisakh to choose them as his employer.

According to a report by Indian Express, Bisakh Mondal expressed that passing interviews with Facebook, Google, and Amazon is challenging. He also mentioned that during the Covid-19 pandemic, he had the opportunity to undertake internships at various organizations, enabling him to gain knowledge beyond his regular coursework. This additional experience and exposure played a significant role in his success during the interviews.
