Dharmesh Shah was born in Ankleshwar, India. His family relocated to the United States and eventually settled in Canada. However, Shah later returned to India to fulfill the responsibility of caring for his grandmother.

After enrolling in mechanical engineering in India, Dharmesh Shah and his family made the decision to move to the United States.

Dharmesh Shah completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Alabama. He then pursued his Master’s degree from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

During his time at MIT, Dharmesh Shah crossed paths with Brian Halligan, who would eventually become his business partner in the future.

In 2006, Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan joined forces to launch HubSpot. Their primary focus was marketing strategies that involved leveraging blogging and organizing marketing events.
