IPS Divya Tanwar is a young 2021 batch IPS officer who cleared the tough UPSC exam in her first attempt at the age of 21 with an All India Rank (AIR) of 438. She is often considered an inspiration by many UPSC aspirants and her videos go viral on social media.
IPS Divya Tanwar, from Mahendragarh, Haryana, studied in government schools before getting selected for Navodaya Vidyalaya in her hometown. She has a B.Sc. degree and started preparing for UPSC right after graduation. In her first attempt, after 1.5 years of preparation, she cleared the exam and became an IPS officer.

Divya Tanwar’s family faced financial difficulties after her father’s death in 2011. Despite this, Divya was a good student and received support from her mother Babita Tanwar. She did not attend any coaching classes but cleared the UPSC prelims exam. She prepared for the main exam with the help of various online sources and test series. After passing the prelims, she joined a UPSC coaching mentorship program.
Despite facing financial difficulties, Divya’s mother Babita Tanwar always encouraged her to study and pursue her dreams. She also supported Divya financially during her UPSC exam preparation.
