Harshita Banthia has secured the highest salary package of INR 55 lakhs during college placement with Microsoft.

Harshita Banthia, a PGDM student at the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), has been hired by Microsoft at the highest salary package of INR 55 lakhs. The average salary package for the PGDM course at GIM last year was INR 14.66 LPA. Prior to joining GIM, Harshita worked as a software development engineer at an international bank in Pune.

Harshita, who comes from Raipur and lives with her family, holds a BTech degree from a college in Chhattisgarh. She decided to leave her job and prepare for MBA entrance exams online to improve her management skills. Harshita performed exceptionally well on her CAT exams and applied to multiple institutes, according to an official statement from GIM.

According to the director of GIM, “GIM has always been committed to promoting the well-being and education of its students and has consistently been a leader in industry excellence. In 2022, GIM was ranked 36th in the management category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). In the academic year 2020-21, out of 424 graduates, 407 were successfully placed and the median salary of the placed students was INR 10 lakhs.
