Countless aspiring individuals vie for the country’s prestigious government positions like IAS, IPS, and IFS.

Nevertheless, only a select few candidates managed to successfully pass this prestigious examination. In this article, we will introduce you to IAS Himanshu Kaushik, an individual who, despite being an average student, cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE) in his very first attempt. Who exactly is IAS Himanshu Kaushik?

Himanshu Kaushik is an IAS officer from the 2018 batch, presently serving in the Andhra Pradesh Cadre. He holds the position of Additional Resident Commissioner at Andhra Bhavan. Hailing from Delhi, IAS Himanshu Kaushik achieved the remarkable feat of clearing the UPSC civil services exam on his first attempt in 2018, earning him a coveted spot in the esteemed Indian Administrative Service (IAS). In his debut attempt, he secured an impressive All-India Rank (AIR) of 77. From August 2018 to May 2019, he underwent a 10-month training program at LBSNAA, Mussoorie.

Prior to his UPSC preparation, Himanshu Kaushik worked as a Software Developer from 2013 to 2016. He pursued his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at a private institute in Ghaziabad between 2009 and 2013. Although considered an average student, he faced challenges during his college exams and experienced two instances of failing subjects. However, he persevered and eventually passed those subjects. His schooling took place in the national capital.

In order to dedicate himself fully to preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, Himanshu Kaushik made the courageous decision to resign from his high-paying job. His determination paid off when he successfully cleared the exam on his first attempt in 2018. Coming from a middle-class background, Himanshu’s father is an engineer while his mother is a Sanskrit teacher. Their unwavering support and encouragement played a vital role in his journey to becoming an IAS officer.
