Arun Singh Dhumal, the current chairman of the Indian Premier League, has a background as an educationist and businessman. He is also the younger brother of Anurag Thakur, the current Minister of Sports, and a member of the Union Cabinet.
At 46 years of age, Arun Dhumal is the son of the renowned politician Prem Kumar Dhumal, who held the position of Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh twice. In addition to being the current chairman of the Indian Premier League, Arun Dhumal has previously served as the treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Starting his career in cricket administration, Arun Dhumal led the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association before becoming the treasurer of the BCCI in 2019.
