The Tata Group company TCS has announced K Krithivasan as the new CEO, succeeding Rajesh Gopinathan who resigned last month.

K Krithivasan will become the new CEO of India’s largest IT services company, TCS, starting on June 1, 2023.

K Krithivasan will take over as the new CEO of TCS after Rajesh Gopinathan resigned from the Tata Group company last month. Ratan Tata was previously the chairman of Tata Group.

TCS announced on April 12 that Krithivasan has been approved as the CEO and managing director by the board of directors, and he will take over the position from June 1.

“The board of directors of TCS has appointed K Krithivasan as the new chief executive officer and managing director of the company effective from June 1, 2023, succeeding Rajesh Gopinathan,” stated TCS.

Who is K Krithivasan?

Krithivasan has been associated with TCS for 34 years and previously served as the President and Global Head of the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Business Group. He joined TCS in 1989 and has worked in various capacities, including delivery, customer relationship management, large program management, and sales.

Krithivasan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras and a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

Krithivasan is considered one of the highly paid IT executives in India. His salary package in the fiscal year 2018-19 was reported to be Rs 4.3 crore. As per reports, the outgoing TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan’s salary in 2021-22 was Rs 25.75 crore. It is expected that Krithivasan’s salary as CEO would be similar to this figure.
