After enrolling at Stanford and attending an online orientation, Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha left their lives in Dubai to return to Mumbai and launch Zepto.

At 19, Kaivalya Vohra, co-founder of Zepto, was named the youngest and richest Indian on the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022. Vohra serves as Zepto’s Chief Technology Officer, while his friend Aadit Palicha is the company’s, Chief Executive Officer. Today, Zepto is India’s fastest-growing e-grocery company.

In the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, Kaivalya Vohra was ranked at 1,036th place with a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore, while Aadit Palicha had a net worth of Rs 1,200 crore, placing him slightly ahead. Both co-founded Zepto in Mumbai in 2021.

Zepto’s value skyrocketed to USD 900 million in May 2022 following a $200 million investment round led by YC Continuity Fund, effectively doubling its valuation from December 2021 when it was worth $570 million.

Who is Kaivalya Vohra?

Kaivalya Vohra, born on March 15, 2003, in Bengaluru, completed his schooling in the same city and is proficient in Hindi, English, and French. Although he enrolled in a computer science engineering program at Stanford University, he dropped out to pursue his dream of launching a company with his friend Aadit Palicha. The result was Zepto, a fast-growing e-grocery company.

After enrolling at Stanford, Kaivalya Vohra, and Aadit Palicha, who was living in Dubai at the time, attended online orientation but ultimately decided to return to Mumbai.

Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha co-founded an online grocery delivery start-up called Kiranakart, which guaranteed 45-minute delivery across Mumbai. They later founded Zepto as a part of Kiranakart Technologies Private Limited. The company has now expanded its operations to Delhi, Chennai, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit were recognized by Forbes magazine in the e-commerce category of the influential ’30 under 30′ (Asia list).
