Who is IAS Padmini Narayan?

Padmini Narayan cleared the UPSC CSE 2019 on her second attempt and secured the 152nd AIR to become an IAS officer. As per her LinkedIn profile, Padmini completed her graduation from Guru Gobin Singh Indraprastha University in 2010 after attending Delhi Public School in R K Puram. She pursued her postgraduate degree from the Management Development Institute in Gurugram during 2011-2013.

Padmini Narayan’s Study Techniques and Tips for UPSC Aspirants

In an interview with Delhi Knowledge Track, IAS officer Padmini Narayan shared her study techniques for the UPSC exam. When she began her preparation, Padmini was employed by the Ministry of Tourism. After one failed attempt, she changed her strategy and resources for better results. She decided to make just one book per topic.

Padmini stressed that mock exams are critical to practicing writing answers. She used to conduct practice exams when her preparation was strong. Padmini also had set topics for the entire day during her study hours. To stay updated on current events, she read the newspaper while commuting to her office.

Moreover, Padmini revealed in the interview that she was pregnant during her UPSC preparation, and hence she paid close attention to her health. She used to take a 25-30 minute break every day and focus on her meals and hydration. According to Padmini, with the necessary effort and dedication, anyone can succeed.
