Who is Roman Saini?

Roman Saini, a former IAS officer, is widely recognized as one of the brightest minds in India. He achieved a remarkable feat by cracking the prestigious AIIMS admission test at the young age of 18 and went on to become an IAS officer at 22 after clearing the UPSC exam. He served as a district collector in Madhya Pradesh.

In 2015, Roman Saini co-founded Unacademy with Gaurav Munjal and Hemesh Singh, after leaving his IAS officer position. The trio launched Sorting Hat Technologies, the parent organization of Unacademy, as Roman was not content with just being an IAS officer and wanted to become an entrepreneur.

Unacademy was founded with the goal of providing affordable UPSC coaching classes to aspiring IAS students. The platform leverages YouTube and other online tools to make quality education accessible to everyone, without the need to spend a large amount of money.

In 2022, Gaurav Munjal, as the CEO of Unacademy, earned a salary of Rs. 1.58 crore. Hemesh Singh earned Rs. 1.19 crore, and Roman Saini received a salary of Rs. 88 lakhs.
