In his early 20s, Sandeep faced a failed business, Rs 5,000 loss, and no cash.

Sandeep Engineer has had a roller-coaster life. He worked in pharma and tried his luck with isabgol distribution, but ultimately made it to the billionaires club! His pipes brand Astral Pipes became so famous that there was even an appearance by them on-screen – featured in the Dabangg film series no less, amplified further through endorsements from Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh.

Sandeep Engineer, the founder of Astral Pipes, became a billionaire unexpectedly. In his early 20s, he faced failure, a loss of Rs 5,000, and no money.

In the 1980s, Sandeep, a pharma employee at Cadila Labs in Ahmedabad, started his entrepreneurial journey without any prior experience. His first venture, a distributorship for flavored isabgol, failed and left him with a huge setback.

Sandeep’s fortunes changed when billionaire Pankaj Patel became his mentor. After failed attempts in the API business, Sandeep found success with CPVC pipes, prompting him to establish Astral Poly Technik in 1998.

As of April 2023, Sandeep Engineer’s net worth is Rs 21,000 crore ($2.6 billion).
