Simran Lal’s journey is a unique one. She belongs to a well-known business family that runs a company with a market capitalization of Rs. 80,000 crores. The Eicher Group, which owns Royal Enfield, is owned by her family, with her brother, Sid Lal, as the iconic business leader. Although Simran Lal could have joined her family’s well-known business, she had other plans. She is the CEO of Good Earth, a brand that was founded by her mother in 1996.

Simran Lal joined Good Earth in 2002 and worked as an executive handling various functions such as streamlining the supply chain and merchandising before becoming the CEO. Under her leadership, the company transformed and became one of India’s most successful luxury lifestyle brands offering fashion, home, and wellness products.

She later co-founded a lifestyle brand called Nicobar with her husband Raul Rai. The company was incorporated in 2017. When she took over as the CEO, the company’s revenue was Rs 5 crore. By 2016-2017, it had grown to Rs 150 crore. The current revenue figures have not been released yet.

Simran Lal’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Art History from Bangalore University and further studies in the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. With the success of her company Nicobar, she also launched a sub-brand under Good Earth called Paro. The Good Earth brand is known for its high-end products in fashion, interiors, and lifestyle spaces.

Lal mentioned in an interview a few years ago that her family had an unconventional business environment. They used to visit Craft Museums, potters’ villages, and other studios in Delhi. She was always inclined toward art and had an interest in archaeology, languages, art, and architecture.

They inaugurated their flagship store in Mumbai in 2005 and opened a store in Khan Market in Delhi two years later. In 2013, the company launched an online boutique.

In another interview, Lal expressed her belief that taking care of employees is crucial as they serve as the brand’s greatest ambassadors. She stated that growing a business entails bringing people together and that this was her most significant lesson.

Lal’s father, Vikram Lal, is the head of their family. The Lal family has a net worth exceeding Rs 54,000 crore. Eicher Motors was established by Vikram Lal’s father, Man Mohan Lal.

Simran’s brother, Sid Lal, is widely recognized for reviving the Royal Enfield brand, which sells classic motorcycles. He became the CEO in 2000 and spearheaded the company’s growth, making it a leading two-wheeler manufacturer that sold over 800,000 vehicles.
