Manimegalai started her career as a Video Jockey at the age of 17, hosting her first show called Super Hits on Sun Music in December 2009. She hosted several live shows and reality shows on Sun Music, including Franka Sollata, Black, and Kollywood Diaries. Her interviews with celebrities helped her gain fame as a television anchor.

In 2016, Manimegalai received the Best Anchor award from the World Human Integration Council. Her fans nicknamed her Anchor Superstar. After working with Sun Network for nine years, she left in January 2019 to participate in a reality show called Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai on Vijay Television with her husband, Hussain. The duo was awarded the 2nd runner-up position and received praise for their final performance.

After the reality show, Manimegalai hosted special shows and other reality shows on Vijay Television. She also appeared as a contestant on the cooking reality show Cooku with Comali, where her comedy timing was appreciated by viewers.

Manimegalai took to social media to inform her fans that her motorcycle (KTM RC 200)(TN10BJ4700) was stolen. The popular Cooku with Comali star shared that it was the first bike she and her husband had purchased with their hard-earned money. She posted a photo of herself and Hussain posing with the newly purchased bike.

The couple had parked their bike at a friend’s place near Ashok Nagar, and it was stolen early in the morning. Fans and other Cooku with Comali celebrities expressed their sympathy in the comment section, trying to console her during this difficult time. Manimegalai wrote, “Feeling down.
