After experiencing failure in the CA exam, Anubhav Dubey shifted his focus toward preparing for the UPSC exam.

Undoubtedly, chai or tea stands as one of the most beloved beverages in India, with numerous success stories associated with it. Among these tales of triumph is the inspiring journey of two friends, Anubhav Dubey and Anand, who managed to establish a company at the tender age of 23, boasting an impressive turnover of Rs 150 crore.

Childhood friends Anubhav Dubey and Anand Nayak both originated from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Anubhav’s father, a businessman himself, held different aspirations for his son, desiring him to pursue a career as an IAS officer. Consequently, Anubhav was sent to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC exam. However, after encountering disappointment in the CA exam, Anubhav shifted his focus towards the UPSC exam, only to realize that his true calling lay in the realm of entrepreneurship rather than conventional employment. Today, Anubhav Dubey stands as the co-founder of Chai Sutta Bar, a thriving multi-crore company.

In 2016, Anubhav Dubey made a pivotal decision to halt his preparation for the UPSC exam and embark on a new venture in the business world. Sharing his idea with his friend Anand Nayak, they faced a common challenge: a lack of substantial funds. Despite this obstacle, the determined duo managed to gather Rs 3 lakhs and set their sights on starting a tea business. Anubhav Dubey took the initiative by opening his inaugural tea outlet strategically positioned opposite the girl’s hostel.

Operating under severe budgetary constraints, Anubhav Dubey and Anand quickly recognized that their financial resources were insufficient for marketing, interior design, and branding purposes. However, their entrepreneurial spirit prevailed as they ingeniously crafted and launched their inaugural outlet in Indore, making do with borrowed items from friends and second-hand furniture. Lacking funds to print a banner, they resourcefully utilized a discarded piece of wood, manually inscribing the name “Chai Sutta Bar.” This name and the associated theme struck a chord with the younger demographic, resonating strongly with their target audience.

Presently, Anubhav and Anand have successfully established over 400 Chai Sutta Bar outlets across 195 cities in India. The brand’s reach extends beyond national borders, with branches in Dubai, the UK, Canada, and Oman. With an impressive annual turnover of approximately Rs 150 crore, Chai Sutta Bar has garnered substantial success. Anubhav Dubey’s personal net worth is estimated to be around Rs 10 crore.

Notably, Chai Sutta Bar contributes to the livelihoods of 250 potter families who supply the outlets with traditional earthen cups, known as kulhads. This partnership creates business opportunities and sustains these families’ income. Furthermore, Anubhav’s team has expanded to include more than 150 individuals, including professionals with backgrounds in MBA and engineering, all working collectively towards the company’s growth and success.
