After his cricket journey, first, he worked as a sports Journalist for Indian express, where he worked for 6 years. Vikrant said that he trained well as a sports Journalist because there was a well-known Shekhar Gupta, who was Editor-in-Chief and V Krishnaswami, who was sports editor, in his alongside. Later he joined the India Today AajTak group on 2nd January 2003. Vikrant believed that Television news was some sort of corporate job. Later he did very well in his news initiation in the 2003 South Africa World Cup, and he attracted a lot of attention from his anchoring of common audiences. After that, he never looked back, and now he is the head Sports Anchor in the India Today group for AajTak.
